I offer bone/ skull cleaning using Dermestid Beetle, aka flesh eating beetles.

One requirement is that the specimen must be or have been frozen for a minimum of a week, if at all possible. Please message me, since I may be able to accommodate in my freezer, if I have the space to spare.

I also offer maceration, if beetle cleaning is not an option. 

I do NOT boil & I do NOT use bleach. 

I use a combination of water, dawn, ammonia and heat to degrease bone. After I degrease, I rinse and dry, then proceed to whitening, unless requested to leave the natural white bone color, as is. 

I use various percentages of peroxide for whitening. I ensure to rinse well, and a minimum of a thirty-minute soak, following another good rinse before drying to ensure the peroxide is leeched.  

Prices vary if working with whole animals, start to finish or just receiving skeletons/ skulls (baby animal skulls like to fall apart). 

Articulation full skeletons start at $300 and up. Please message with details. 

I use 10% neutral buffered formalin as my choice of fixative. I inject all large muscle groups, and organs thoroughly, followed by a long formalin soak. 

I rinse and leech in distilled water, with changes, no more than 24 hours. 

Once leeched, and rinsed, it will be patted dry and transitioned into 70% isopropyl alcohol.

All fragile animals (fetal, hairless) are slowly transitioned up to 70% isopropyl alcohol, to avoid shriveling and wrinkling, which takes a lot more alcohol and distilled water which makes them a bit pricier to fix but the results speak for themselves.

I offer complimentary nose and paw prints in memorial packages, if possible. 

I offer any of the services that are listed on this page, along with cremation/ partial cremation. 

If you have any special request, please contact me. I also have experience with ashes & resin or can put you in contact with an artist or taxidermist that can assist in other areas, such as jewelry making, taxidermy, tanning etc.
